Confidence & Self Esteem

Positive Change Hypnotherapy Gran Canaria

How much confidence do you want?

Growing up being told things such as “Don’t show off… Who do you think you are?… Be quiet… You’ll never amount to anything…” Do these comments sound familiar to you?

Has a life change knocked your confidence?

Lack of confidence can lead us down a road that is uncomfortable, doesn’t feel right and leaves us battling against a life of unhappiness.

Look forward to a much more compelling and fulfilling future.

It is our life experiences and knocks that lower confidence levels and self belief. Hypnotherapy can help you become much more confident and positive.

The causes behind low confidence or low self-esteem are many and varied.

It may be that your parents were too critical of you as a child or as an adult, or a teacher embarrassed you in front of the class or maybe you made a mistake at work or have been bullied.

Either way confidence is something that we can tap into and utilise in any situation. Instead of nerves making you feel self conscious, or stumbling over words, or performing below par, you’ll be able to do yourself justice.

Lack of self-esteem is when an imbalance has occurred. Being in the depths of lack of self-esteem can be difficult to get out of. It can limit you and be both physically and mentally exhausting. Like confidence, with healthy self esteem life is more manageable, fulfilling and you become much more adept at dealing with anything and everything life throws at you.

It is vitally important that we look after ourselves properly and this is not a selfish act because we are better able to help those around us when we are happy with ourselves.

So how much confidence do you want?

Nobody is born with a lack of confidence or low self-esteem, let us see where it came from, change it and get your life back on track and looking forward to a much more compelling and fulfilling future.

We can work together to grow your confidence to a level that is real. When you are being true to yourself, happy, confident and engaging in life you are good to be around and have a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

Hypnosis can be described as an altered state of consciousness

The Hypnotherapy treatment Kevin O’Brien gives for low confidence is called “ego-strengthening”. Generally this is the first treatment every client receives.

Every condition benefits from initial work on building your confidence. Since the sense of self-belief in our abilities influences how we think, feel, motivate ourselves and behave it is imperative that this is undertaken.

Appreciating yourself and your own worth means you have a positive attitude, value yourself and believe in your strengths and abilities. You know your strengths and weaknesses and are able to live happily within your own being.

The most important opinion in our lives is the one we have about ourselves. However, many of us have learned to be unduly concerned with what others think of us. We also spend so much time and effort looking after everyone else that we don’t take proper care of ourselves, mentally or physically.

You can learn to be happy with the unique and special person that you are. Limiting beliefs and negative thoughts are learned over time and with Hypnosis you can unlearn these bad habits and be happy with yourself.

  • Have a better opinion of yourself

Advice and Tips on building Confidence and Self Esteem

  • Imagine how somebody you know with confidence would act and learn from them. What do they do that makes them confident, how do they act?
  • Don’t compare yourself to others. We are all individuals. Learn from others but don’t try to “be them”
  • Focus on your achievements not your failures. If you find yourself thinking negatively tell yourself to “snap out of it” and then focus on your achievements.
  • Act like you are self confident and you will feel more confident!
  • Remind yourself why you like you and what your friends like and admire about you. Why not ask them?
  • “Failure to prepare is to prepare to fail”. Make sure everything is in place before starting a task.
  • Work on how to relax yourself.
  • Always smile and stand up straight
  • Reward yourself when you achieve any goal

What else can you do to improve your self confidence?

  • Groom yourself. It’s amazing how much of a difference a shower, a shave or pampering can make to your feelings of self-confidence.
  • Think positive. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. How I can actually change my thoughts, and by doing so make great things happened. Try it if you haven’t and notice the difference.
  • Get to know yourself. Get to know yourself well. Start listening to your thoughts. Start writing a journal about yourself, and about the thoughts you have about yourself, and analyzing why you have such negative thoughts. And then think about the good things about yourself, the things you can do well, the things you like. Dig deep within yourself, and you’ll come out (eventually) with even greater self-confidence.
  • Act positive. More than just thinking positive, you have to put it into action. It is the key to developing self-confidence. It’s one thing to learn to think positive, but when you start acting on it, you change yourself, one action at a time. Talk to people in a positive way and put energy into your actions. You’ll soon start to notice a difference.
  • Get prepared. It’s hard to be confident in yourself if you don’t Think you’ll do well at something. Beat that feeling by preparing yourself as much as possible.
  • Know your principles and live them. What are the principles upon which your life is built. Think about your principles. You might have them but perhaps you haven’t given them much thought. Now think about whether you actually live these principles, or if you just believe in them but don’t act on them.
  • Speak slowly. Such a simple thing, but it can have a big difference in how others perceive you. A person in authority, with authority, speaks slowly. It shows confidence. A person who feels that he isn’t worth listening to will speak quickly,
  • Stand tall. Remind yourself to stand tall and straight and you will feel better about yourself.
  • Set a small goal and achieve it. People often make the mistake of shooting for the moon, and then when they fail, they get discouraged. Instead, shoot for something much more achievable. Set a goal you know you can achieve, and then achieve it. You’ll feel good about that. Now set another small goal and achieve that. The more you achieve small goals, the better you’ll be at it, and the better you’ll feel. Soon you’ll be setting bigger (but still achievable) goals and achieving those too.
  • Smile. It works! You will feel instantly when you smile and it will help you to be kinder to others as well. A little tiny thing that can have a chain reaction.
  • Exercise. Exercise is one of the most empowering activities and it will make you feel so much better about yourself. All you have to do is take a walk a few times a week, and you will soon see the benefits.
